How to minimize Win7 background write processes?

Hi all, I will be building my new PC shortly with an SSD as main OS drive and Win7 Ultimate 64bit OS. I'd like to minimize as much as possible all non essential background processes that write to disk. So I was thinking:

1) Disable all event logs that write txt files to disk (if possible, how is this done?)
2) Disable unnecessary services (which ones?)
3) Disable unnecessary scheduled events (disk defrag, etc)
4) Disable windows page file (I will be installing 32Gb RAM so maybe page file is not needed? And if so, how is this done?)
5) Disable System restore

Thanks for your feedback and suggestions.

First off

1) Disable all event logs that write txt files to disk (if possible, how is this done?)
Disable the "Windows Event Log" and "Windows Error Reporting Service" .... be warned... once disabled no more logs to find what screwed up !!
2) Disable unnecessary services (which ones?)
Try this from Black Viper.. If you like risk go for barebone... otherwise safe..
3) Disable unnecessary scheduled events (disk defrag, etc)
Well suit yourself... but do defrag your other HDD (SSD's dont need them)
4) Disable windows page file (I will be installing 32Gb RAM so maybe page file is not needed? And if so, how is this done?)
Again.... Disabling pagefile... you wont be having any dumps to analyse.. if you BSOD..
Click Start > on the search bar type "View Advanced System Settings" and hit enter..
Under performance > Settings> Advanced > Change > Select the drive and select "no paging file" and then click set...

5) Disable System restore
Again at your own risk..... you wont have any point to go back to if you screwup

the main issue with windows writes is you can forget about powering down the c: drive when idle, as its constantly been written to by the kernel, windows logs would seem to be a culprit but analysing by myself and others actually shows it to be constant registry writes. In total this probably makes system restore irrelevant as system restore is only writing on system updates or once a week, whilst these writes are 24/7 as long as the pc is running.

If I recall page file discussions, in some cases Win 7 expects to find a page file, regardless of how much RAM you have. On that assumption, I'd keep a small page file.

I'd keep System Restore unless I had a very small SSD. You can easily restrict the space devoted to it---I use about 6 or 8 GB on my SSD for restore points and always have a dozen or so dating back 2 or 3 weeks.

From all I have read, the concern about "too many writes" to an SSD is highly exaggerated, especially on current generation drives.
