Hi guys,
I have a big problem. i have connected my monitors via displayport to my computer.
displayport is very nice, but it has one feature that is - in combination with windows vista/7 - very bad. displayport specification says that if a device (Monitor) will be turned off (standby) it will not be visible to the computer anymore. that is very annoying because windows has a routine which permanently checks if all monitors are still connected. if one monitor will be physicly disconnected, then windows will reorganize the desktop (all content that was on the disconnected screen will be moved to the others). if the monitor will be turned on again windows will move the windows back to the place where it has been before, but often it does not work correctly.
does somebody know how to disable that? maybe a registryentry?
