How to password protect

Hi, I hope this is in the right section.

I would like to be able to password protect my son from downloading stuff off the Internet or removing something from the computer. I want him to be required to enter a password. Is there any way of doing this? I am using Windows 7 x64 HP computer. Thanks.

Yes, I'm running Vista.....the computer I'm talking about is Windows 7 though. It belongs to my husband. Sorry for the confusion. When he finishes up some work he is doing on it, we will try your suggestions.

Yes,this cuts both ways though! If you see my specs., it appears as if i am typing ,using a desktop! Far from the truth! I am typing on a Toshiba l300 satellite lappy, but with a volume-licensed Win.7 Ultimate 32 OS. I appreciate the @OP for boldly stating that it's Vista 64!

PS: Even some of the better internet sec.suites (Kaspersky,for one),have excellent options to allow/disallow,children using the pc Via password, but also the duration of use!:devil:
