How to re enable lenovo onekey recovery

Ive been having issue with my lenovo G580 laptop. Its been stuck in a constant startup repair loop.

Using posts on this forum, ive tried to rectify the problem myself but realised its beyond me but Ive made changes using the DISKPART feature of windows at the command prompt stage, and I think ive disabled the recovery options.

Ive tried to use the onekey recovery service preinatlled onto the laptop. Usually just press the recovery button, next to the power button but pressing this now just boots into the system repair loop.

Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

You can try setting the recovery partition active using partition wizard boot disk, then rebooting to try one key recovery again. There should also be a way to relink recovery to the one key button.

But the factory install is an inferior install to begin with so you'd be better off doing the reinstall in the tutorial under signature picture below.

Thanks everyone, thinking the reinstall is the way forward. Since its an OEM windows install I had to acquire a copy of windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Your guide said to check the SHA1 signature, ive downloaded the HashTab program and checked the value on HashTab but it doesnt look the same as on MSDN Download page. Maybe Im doing it wrong?

I have an old windows 7 desktop PC, could I create a repair install DVD from that?

Where did you get the ISO file? You want pristine untouched.

Ive been told I can get a trial version so long as I have my windows key. Ill try that and post my results.

Got the trial version and went for the install over the top of the existing install and its back to normal now.

Since its now working and I now have a windows folder and a windows.old folder could I use this tutorial to transfer my old settings to my new install?

There is no trial version of Win7. You get a grace period only of 30 days to activate.

If you followed Clean Reinstall Windows 7 there should be no windows.old folder since that is only issued when you fail to delete the partitions properly to get the disk cleanest.

But if you have one then you probably didn't follow all the back-up steps so I'd keep it until you know nothing was left behind and then you can delete it using Disk Cleanup selecting System files.
