I know it can be done via BIOS but I can find it in there.
Brand name is Dell XPS 8300.

TIA.

You would have to get the BIOS microprogram code and change it there (provided you can also get all the tools like compiler, etc.). Probably mission impossible. And why would you like to do that anyhow.

If it's anything like my old Sony computer, when I went into BIOS and disabled the Sony boot up screen it was replaced automatically with a screen that gave me info about my system, i.e., BIOS version, manuf, condition of the drives, number of input devices, etc.

I was just wondering if it would provide these info on bootup. Oh well. Thanx for the input.

There used to be an option to disable the splash screen so the POST screen would show at boot. But I believe it was removed. Dell, especially, really limits the BIOS options to prevent customers borking their systems and causing warranty claims. I believe Quick Boot is enabled by default, but disabling it just enabled the memory check and such. I don't believe it disables the splash screen to display the POST. A Guy
