How to remove Windows 10 upgrade updates in Windows 7 and 8

Yes, it is back
I return to install Updates and it is there again it seems to re=install on reboot.
I just tried cmd in safe mode but it has returned.

I find it impossible for an update to install itself.

Yes, Adram mine is set the same. (always has been)
I tell you with a smile on my face that I un-install it and the system goes through all the right actions to un-install.
The KB then disappears off the "Installed list" I re-boot and the system shows shutting down please wait 33% etc them closes then re-starts still counting 100% then desktop.
Go to Installed Updates and there it is again.

Is there any other way to un-install updates that you know of ?

Firstly I would uncheck let all users install updates,
Also uncheck give me recommended updates the same as important ones,
Then all Recommended updates will be listed in the Optional section instead of the important section.

Thank you Mr Zone for that info, I will change my settings to your suggestion.
Mr problem seems to have gone.
I used safe mode into control panel, installed updates and noticed the dates never progressed past the 14th of May.
When the KB returned it showed todays date.
I returned to windows, installed updates did a scan for it and its gone and there is no dates above the 14th of May.

I also checked and that KB is in my Hide list.

I have been in to PC's for many years and they still amaze me.

It does not matter how you set those checkmarks, if you are the only user and you have it set to check but never install, windows will never install an update, you have to do it.

Those little check marks or at least one of them keeps Recommended updates Out of the Important updates section and that's the way I like it,

It keeps people from saying a recommended update is Important when it's not it's Optional

Last I checked there is still a windows default admin account unless turned off it has more rights than you

Don't necessarily have a problem with what MS is doing; I have a problem that it wasn't an option. I'm going to uninstall the KB's because invagent.dll thrashes daily at close to 100% CPU for 300-400 seconds of kernel time.

Anyone else exerience that? David

I experienced HDD thrashing with the updates, but didn't have them on my system long enough to check out the CPU usage.

The instructions by user "Tookeri" for uninstalling are terribly convoluted.
Can someone simplify the uninstall instructions for Windows 7?

See this post by Brink for an alternate way to remove it. I used Tookeri's method without any issues but to keep it simple just check the link below.

Open Control Panel and navigate to the address in the address bar below. Click on the link highlighted in the screenshot below then manually scan through to find each update listed in post #1 and delete them. Reboot then hide the updates when they return.
