Installed Win 7 in a dual boot mode with Xp yesterday.

I also downloaded the Windows Live software and thsi came with a mail program.

Before I did the install I saved a copy of all the files/folders/favourites/accounts etc from Outlook Express.

How do I get these saved files back into the Win 7 e-mail program. I do not have a hotmail address etc and want to keep my existing user accounts with Plus.net

Thanks

Kwack

What are you using as your e-mail client (e-mail program).

I downloaded Win Live Mail and installed it. I then created the mail acounts within Windows Mil as per my original settings from my ISP. ONce these were donw I could import by old folders and address book from my backups that I took prior to installing Win 7

I don't even see an import option. Where do you find it?

When I was moving from XP to the Windows 7 RC, I loaded Windows Live Mail on the XP machine. It found Outlook Express and moved everything - mail and accounts - over.

I then ran a program to save the Windows Live Mail stuff, installed Windows Live Mail on Windows 7, then restored Windows Live Mail from the backup. It restored everything. As I recall, all I had to do was put the passwords back in.

The program I used to do the backup is KLS Mail Backup - Freeware Outlook Express, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, Firefox backup

I don't even get any mail into this stupid Live mail. It has accepted my emai ladress but there is no email. It's like webmail anyway. Have to go into explorer to get to email. How is that better than OE? That was easy and I want it back. Windows 7 has been a problem from word go. Not happy. This is made for people with a lot of time and computer nerds. I have no time and just want the job done and no cryptic fuss.
