How to search files from withing excel?

I have a list in excel of character strings (e.g. BAL674). I would like to search a folder and its subfolders on my hard drive for files with names that contain my stings. For each string I would like to get all (none, one or more) file names. Any ideas if this is possible and how to do it?

I would use FileSearchEX for this. Do a search for "*.xls" (or whatever your file extension is) and then for the "Containing Text" part enter the string you're looking for.
