Hi Folks,

I use Bittorrent sync to sync my music folder across two computers. BTSync has managed to screw up, however, so now I need to sync these two folders such that no files are deleted, missing files are populated in the respective computer, and where conflicts occur (i.e. files are not identical), I'll either choose which one to keep, or just the latest version is kept.

In the past I'd probably use xxcopy to do something like this. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

I use Beyond Compare to keep folders/files in sync, which is a 2-pane wonderfully powerful and wonderfully intuitive and simple to use product that can do anything you want.

You can update-to-left/right, or mirror-to-left-right, or simply compare and decide for yourself what you want to do.

You can also compare files (not just TXT files but other file types as well), with the two files presented in a side-by-side comparison so that you can decide what you want to do.

You can filter the display to show all, differences only, or equals only. You can also filter what gets compared (e.g. if you only want to compare *.FLAC, ignoring *.MP3, you can do that as well).

It's not free, but it does have a free trial. Give it a shot.

I cannot recommend it strongly enough. Been using it forever.
