How to transfer windows 7 professional license from 1 pc to other pc?

Hi,
I have a windows 7 professional retail key and I wanted to transfer it to my pc. I did installed windows 7 on a laptop some time back ago but it didn't worked very well on that so had to move to windows 10 on that. So is it possible to install windows 7 on pc now and activate it?

Yes, provided you don't use the computer with upgrade from Win7 pro to Win10. You cannot use the retail key on more than one active Windows. Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) keys can be provided they are the same machines. The manufacturers obtain a blanked key/license so that they can activate windows on all similar computers that they sell on one/ OEM key. You cannot use and OEM disk or key on any computer not from that manufacturer and that type of computer. The BIOS contains a Slic table which check the key for authenticity. If they do not coincide/match windows will not activate.
