Solved How To Uninstall 7 Zip Completely

So, I downloaded and installed the .msi version of 7 Zip since I have a 64bit computer. I couldn't uninstall via Revo Uninstall as it didn't show up. I uninstalled it using the Control Panel and now there's still left over registry files of it I believe. How can I get rid of all of it?

Are you using the free version of Revo if so it will not show 64-bit programs only the Pro version does.

I would install 7-zip again and either use the above uninstaller or download a free trial of Revo Pro and uninstall with it.

Yes I have, I have a single license Revo Pro for my personal laptop and I wanted something for my wife's desktop without having to buy another license so I tried Advanced Uninstaller and it works almost identical to Revo. Like with any Uninstaller watch closely what you delete from the registry and/or files.

Yes, I am using the free version of Revo. It looks like the program you suggested removed 7 ZIP entirely despite saying it didn't find any registry/folders after uninstalling. Is there a way I can manually search to make sure?


I also ran CCleaner after and I found a bunch of .dlls related to 7 Zip.

The only way is to search the registry manually and remove them that way. If your not careful of what your doing, this can create some serious problems and completely brick your system.

You could go through the registry manually but I would not worry about it, I remove what uninstaller finds and leave it alone after that.

What .dlls did ccleaner find?

I'm not sure. I just remembered they had 7.zip.dll something something. It also found invalid/empty file classes with a bunch of results of 7-zip.deb, 7-zip.cab, 7-zip.rar, etc. I went ahead and deleted them.

You should be OK ccleaner is safe to use for cleanup, I do not use the registry cleaner myself but other do.
