Title says it all. I downloaded the WMPTagSupportExtender.1.4.msi file and it installs fine, but when I use WMP, it doesn't seem to do anything. I hear that using this allows WMP to play .flac files along with the Win7Codecs, but nothing's happening. Am I supposed to enable something? If so, how do I do it?

apparently older versions did not write a registry value properly...read the whole thread and note that it's for Vista and WMP11, so not sure at all if it will work on W7 and WMP12...create a system restore point first and backup your files, and note that the software is not supported by MS, so if it breaks something...your hosed.

WMP Tag Support Extender won't do anything out of itself, it will just allow WMP to read/write FLAC tags (FLAC playback is not related to this, you need a separate codec for that). Please give some more details of your problem. What exactly are you trying to do (playing a FLAC file in WMP, editing FLAC tags...)? Do you get an error message?

Also, if you are experiencing problems with WMP Tag Support Extender, it's a good idea to try WMP Tag Plus instead, a new tag support plug-in:

To prevent conflicts, it is recommended to uninstall or disable all other tag support plug-ins, such as WMP Tag Support Extender, before installing WMP Tag Plus.

I managed to fix it. Did a bit more reading and it turns out I needed codecs that allowed for FLAC files to work in WMP 12. I tried Shark007's Win7Codecs, but they didn't work (odd, since everyone else got them to work with FLAC files), so I got some codecs from Xiph.org and now it's fine (although one or two things got hosed very slightly).
