I have/had a HP Pavilion P6510f and the mobo died. I replaced it with a Gigabyte 880GM-UD2H and now I can't get my internal card reader to be recognized. It's a 5 pin and I have plugged it into the empty FUSB slot and still not being recognized.

In device manager, it doesn't show and the only issue is an ethernet card.

I can't seem to figure out what to do to get it to work...

Any help would be awesome! Thanks!!

Check page 29 of the manual, are the cables the right way round?
Was the card reader the cause of died MOBO?

Page 29 fig 12...

Since there is no mention of wire color in the manuel, I don't know if the wires are "the right way round." I would assume that red and black are power and ground. No idea about the green and white...
It worked on the old mobo, and doubtful it had anything to do with the DIMMs going bad.

I have:
RED
WHITE
GREEN
BLACK (doubled up)

and have tried all three of the FUSB headers. One is being used by the actual USB ports in the front and no matter which I move them to, when I plug something into them, they recognize the device. For some odd reason, do all 10(9) pins have to be used? I'm really at a loss...

It would seem as though it's missing a driver but what do I know...

Thanks Theog for your input. Can you (or anyone) think of anything else?

Pins 7, 8 & 10 are BLACK. If you did plug in the wrong way round, you have shorted out card reader.

I couldn't have plugged in the wrong way because of there only being 4 holes in a 5 pin plug.
