Solved HP AIO Scanner APPS Crashing (hpqSTE08.exe, and hpqtra08.exe)

My Win 7 Pro SP1 (x64) is up to date and lavishly supplied with RAM and HDD space.
My HP driver suites for my two OfficeJet AIO devices are also up to date.
The OfficeJet devices are network-attached 8630 (A7F66A) and 8500 (A909N).


Once these apps crash, there's no scanning.

Don't mean to side step the problem but have you tried talking with HP support or asking your question in the HP forum?

That's where I started but no replies so far...

Most HP printers have the HP Assistant where there is a utility called HP Print and Scan Doctor.

The Assistant should be on your desktop. If it is, can you find and run the utility?

Yes but failed to find the problem. I re-installed entire software package and that has seemingly solved the problem. I can't begin to recount the times I've been advised to do that -- and complied -- and come up empty. This time, it may have worked.

That was going to be my next suggestion but thought the Doctor might find something.
