Hello group. This is the second time i try installing the drivers for the printer. Firstly i installed it from the HP Support Assistant and then i downloaded it straight from the HP site and i still get the same results.

The printer which was not working works for a while but only the google page i get to print, the other pages freeze when i press print and i have to end the Task or close all my windows on google Chrome.

The problem is seen when i restart the computer. It does not boot/load windows and it takes me to system repair so that i can restore the pc to an earlier time.

Also during the download of the drivers, there are 3 steps and it freezes on step 2.

What is causing my pc to not boot/load after downloading the drivers and how can i make my printer work?? Is there something i can do to fix the problem? Are the downloadable files bad? I tried it from 2 different sources and now my printer does not work also windows will not load after i download the files....

What, specifically, did you download from the HP site? Is this the site you used- HP Officejet 2620 All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP(R) Customer Support

I would use the Driver-Product Installation download to reinstall your printer.

Yes that is the site i used to download the drivers and i installed the "HP Officejet 2620 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers" drivers and it does not work it makes my startup fail...

It is not Officejet 2620, it is Deskjet 2620 and neither downloads seem to work i just tried it again and the restart fails

you can download the HP123 software. Make sure it says it's for Win 7 64 bit if that's what you have.

Are you connecting the printer via USB and is the connection USB 2?

If your system is failing to boot, how are you communicating with the forum?

I'm using the usual printer to tower cable USB type A to type B if i am not wrong?? Let me try your site when i get back to the office.

The system fails to boot each time i download the printer drivers or app, i have to use windows repair or restore to an earlier stage each time i switch on or restart the pc....

Also i realized that when i unplug the cable and restart i am able to boot without any problem...But the printer does not work though...

Would you go into your BIOS and check to see if there's a setting for USB Legacy Devices? If so, disable it. Does that help?

I used the HP print and scan doctor and it seems to be working now.

Also, i did not find the USB Legacy Devices option on the BIOS (F10). It is not there.

Did you do anything like uninstall and reinstall the software in the new link I gave you before you ran the "doctor?"

As an aside, you never did respond to your thread on finding games.
