Hi...I'm desperately trying to get my old scanner to work on Windows 7 (its always worked on XP fine but now my new laptop has windows 7 it wont!). I have spent many hours after reading various solutions but it just wont work. Although badged as a HP scanner i have read to install the Mustek Bearpaw 1200 drivers. I've followed links to Install the Vista version and run in compatibility mode (I've tried Vista as suggested and windows 7). So the set-up process launches and then it states to complete the installation you need to restart windows (which I've done now about 50 times!) but everytime it restarts nothing happens. I've tried searching on the C drive to 'launch' the completion steps but nothing happens. I have managed to download the panel but everytime you press the "scan" button it says no scanner is detected. I read to download VueScan - that didnt work. I've also tried to force the launch by typing "Run" in the search bar and typing "hddwiz" but it cant find the driver (however following my original download it has created a "driver" folder but the hddwiz is looking for an file type that doesnt exist in that folder). I'm stuck! I know its an old scanner but loads of old posts seem to get this problem fixed but I cant. If anyone can help I'd be so grateful (and as you can tell I am not techy at all so I need an help in basic terminology!)

!!Here is one solution I found on the windows forum (an old post) I followed but it didn't do anything!!
After becoming crazy, because I couldn't use it, and I tried so many things, I finaly find the solution to use scener Mustek BearPaw 1200CU Plus for Windows 7 ultimate (64bit). First you go to mustek.de | scanners (extension is not .com but .de), then chose service & drivers after chose BearPaw and then Driver 1200CU Plus / CU Plus II. There are optional 3 drivers for downloading and you can chose to download version for windows Vista 64bit. Whole link is this one Driver 1200CU Plus / CU Plus II
After downloading it you wil se file named web64.exe Right click on it and then click "Properties", after chose "Compatibility" and check box "Run this program in compatibility formode for: Windows Vista (Servis Pack 2)". Then click on apply and then on OK button. After all of this duble click mouse left button on the downloaded file web64.exe and folow usual instructions for installing. It works for me, and I hope it will work for you. Fedor
