Solved "HP Hardware Diagnostic Tool ...

... powered by PC Doctor". This utility came with my computer and has a default setting to run a default(?) set of tests on the 1st of each month. I am unable to determine how to manually execute this task. I want to disable the 'Scheduled Maintenance' feature and run this same set of tests whenever I choose.

Hi MorningStar,

Have a look in
Controlpanel>admintools>Taskscheduler>local>pcDoctor(hp).

Click on PCDoctor/hp> properties (left hand side)> triggers>change to what you want

It should be under the local section, If not on the first screen that opened scroll down to the date it was last run to get the correct name

thx for reply torchwood. No luck. Everything I tried with the .exe argument only resulted in only starting up the tool.

Here is the 'action' argument in the scheduler :

C:\Program Files\PC-Doctor for Windows\pcdr5cuiw32.exe -fh scripts\monthly.xml -st PCDRScheduledMaintenance

So your saying that you cannot change the timer trigger from monthly to Weekly, from the edit option (rightside screenshot), or even enable On-demand.

Your .exe line script is only the action NOT the trigger which is what you need to change.
note there might be more than 1

I am wanting to do manually, at the push of a button, whenever I want, to run the same set of tests that are now being performed monthly. sorry for confusion.

In that case you will have to create an elevated command shortcut which you can place either on your desktop or task bar.

Create a batch file like so:

C:
cd "\Program Files\PC-Doctor for Windows"
pcdr5cuiw32.exe -fh scripts\monthly.xml -st

I'm suspecting that you need to be in the directory when you run the program as scripts\monthly.xml is probably a directory under that one.

You could try the above 3 commands manually from a command prompt window. May be best to run it from a Elevated Command Prompt window.
