HP Hotkey software not working

Hi guys!


i have an elitebook2760p, i am pretty happy with it.
only minor issues, one of them in another post.


but in this id like to receive help to solve something wrong key configurations.


My laptop has a button in right side, just beside the headphone/mic port, i remember years ago i set that button to launch the explorer, now i want to change the button to another function, but i can find the link in control panel and when i try to do it through "Tablet PC Settings" in Hardware and Sound within Control Panel, i get this error:

All pertinent update are installed and the HP HotKey Support sp56876.exe installation intalled too.


what could i t be?

thats an MS option and needs to be enabled via
Control panel >> programs & features..turn features on & off (top left) a smaller window will open, scroll to tablet pc components ..... tick the box.


please note your machine is a notebook not a tablet.

under my laptop drivers and softwares, the quick web is there, altought i never have installed it and the function was working time ago..


the quickweb software is 600MB!!!


600mb for changing the function of one of my side buttoms?

bro i had an hp laptop and i did the following:

turn off your pc and enter to BIOS menu

you´ll see a tab called "software" or "advanced" or just try to explore by yourself this option:

"Enable hotkeys" or "Enable action keys"

did it work? let me know
