HP Laserjet 4 and Laserjet 5

I have an HP LaserJet 4L. I purchased from newegg a parallel to USB adapter/cable (I think it's a Sabrent brand) and it works flawlessly. The trick is to plug the cable in to any USB port WITHOUT plugging it in to the printer. Let the computer install the parallel to USB drivers first. When that's done. Turn off the pc, plug the parallel end into the printer (all the while the USB end is still plugged in), then turn on the pc. (Assuming the printer is turned on, it will automatically install the correct drivers for your printer.

Laserjet 5 using jet direct card not being found

Any help would be appreciated. My laserjet 5 using a jet direct card connected with a network cable directly into the router decided to just stop being recognized by just my windows 7 machine. My xp machines still find it just fine so the printer works just fine. My windows 7 machine finds all of my other printers just fine so windows 7 can't be to screwed up.. lol. No hardware or software was added or removed. Other than yes wait for it.... Microsoft windows updates.... Any help would be greatly appreciated I rely on this printer due to it's duplexing capabilities.
