Solved HP Pavilion dv6809wm Laptop Missing CD/DVD drive and PCI Drivers

Hello, I have been struggling to fix this problem for a very long time now.
I have a HP Pavilion dv6809wm Entertainment Notebook PC that worked fine one day running Windows 7 and now its CD/DVD drive ( E: ) has disappeared, also under device manager, the CD drive disappeared also.

I have updated all the windows updates and it popped up and worked I was soo happy and then next time I restarted computer it disappeared again . I have tried the Microsoft CD/DVD drive help program, No good. I have tried the Upper and Lower registry files, no upper/lower. I even took out the cd drive out of my laptop and plugged it back in, and it's lights work and it opens and closes, but isn't recognized by Windows.

I also have 4 drivers missing, which I have already installed the drivers from the HP driver website for this.
I hav multimedia video controller Driver missing + 3 missing PCI devices. Locations=
PCI bus 2, device 5, function 0
PCI bus 2, device 5, function 4
PCI bus 2, device 5, function 2
PCI bus 2, device 5, function 1

I have the Ricoh Flash Media Driver + many more still installed NVIDIA GeForce 7150M

any help would be awesome, Thanks for your time!

Hi,

Post your msinfo32 file, I maybe able to help with the PCI device drivers:

To get this:

Start Menu > Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box
When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember
Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info
Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

Or alternatively, you can look them up yourself:

Go to device manager and look for the yellow question mark, then click on each device until you
find the details tab. You are looking for VEN_xxxx and DEV_xxxx
Search using those details on :ar: www.pcidatabase.com

For your CD/DVD drive issue, are you able to restore the computer back to a time
before the issue started?

I attached the SystemInfo file, hopefully you can tell whats wrong.

I found the codes for the PCI's but I don't know what to do later,
I already have drivers installed and yet it still shows no driver. So Here's the codes: Thanks a lot for your work.

VENs: 1180, 1180, 1180, 1180
DEVs: 0032, 0043, 0052, 0022

And Also I have installed Vista-then installed all stock drivers. Then I reinstalled Win 7 and installed drivers and Still the CD/DVD still didn't show. So restore doesn't fix it. Bummer. I don't know its weird. I don't have any software for burning disks so that's not the problem..

Well if it is just burning software then I suggest either of these as I have both and used them with no probs.

one download of the 5-1 Card reader driver fixed it.
