my drivers are all up to date.
How do I check if that hybrid sleep thing is enabled and if it is then it will mess with the sound?

To enable/disable Hybrid sleep, go into Power Options. Click on Advanced Power Options, and go to the Sleep section. The option is there.

Hope this helps,

Right click, REFRESH!!!!!

So I've been visiting many forums about the audio not working after hibernation mode and I haven't found any real good solutions. For the past month I've been restarting my laptop to get the sound to work again. Really annoying! Just the other day, my BF told me to just exit the browser, windows media player, etc and right click to REFRESH. Once I did that and opened up my browser and played a random clip that had audio it worked again. WTH! That was it? A couple of times I had to hit refresh an extra two or three times, but it fixes the audio problem. I never fully resolved the audio issue because the sound will always stop working after hibernation mode, but the refresh option is so much better than having to restart my computer. Hope this helps others that are having the same issue.

Also to add onto my other hibernation mode issue. I had a problem when my laptop was on hibernate long enough to prompt me to the password screen, that I would put in the correct password and it would tell me it was wrong! So, to fix that issue just click on switch user and then go back to the profile you want to access and the password you have been inputting correct will work.

Hi, I have the exact issue with the sound (drivers?) but only when running on batteries; if I keep my laptop plugged in I have sounds when coming back from hibernation. I've tried your solution but it doesn't work for me. I've closed all opened windows and refresh the desktop (?) but i still don't have sounds. Do you have any other idea? Thank you.
