hp pavillion dv5000 windows 7 problems

So I just installed windows 7 recently on my sisters HP pavillion dv5000
There are a number of problems. First the keyboard is wack. After I type a few words it'll jump to a middle of a sentence before or 2 words before and start from there as I type. like I'll write hey how are you and it goes between h and ow and starts the cursor all the way over there or it'll be gone and start no where. and it'll go to the post button or something.
Another issue but not as big is the fact that there is a mute button if you are familiar with the HP pavillion DV5000 and when you press it the light goes on, if you turn on the mute. This always happens. It happened when I still use windows XP, now that I changed it to windows 7 however it no longer works. If I press mute or even if I don't the button is not turned on.
Any one can help? ESPECIALLY with the wacky keyboard situation. I can't type anything without it going back midway and start to type out of the wrong section of it. Thanks

Sound Issue: whenever I hibernate then restore windows the sound is gone! I cannot get it back unless I restart my PC.

Reghakr is right install the newest drivers from HP and that should clear up the issues.

i looked however when it asks me what operating system do I have, there is no option for choosing windows 7.

Was this an upgrade or a "clean" install?

clean install. i had windows xp before and then I installed windows 7.

When the keyboard screws up does it happen in the post boxes here on this site?

you can install the Vista drivers for the media keys just remember to right click them and then run them in compatiblity mode with "Vista SP1" and run as admin.

You sure your hand is not touching the trackpad? This used to happen to me while dealing with certain laptops. I would think, wtf - wack keyboard. Even my dad came to me with a similar problem.

Try plugging in a mouse and disabling the trackpad. See if that helps.

I actually have the same problem.''I had to turn off CAP Locks because i kept hitting the key.

What I do is copy the post to the clipboard if it kicks you back out of the post you;'re making.

well i just updated the few optional stuff for windows seven I believe one of them was the touchpad update for windows 7 and so far I think now it's been fine but I haven't typed much today so I'm not sure but maybe that update was what I needed as I haven't had problems yet from typing this post. I'll see what happens from now on. That windows 7 optional updates might have been all I needed.

However the light on the mute button is still off when I press it on. Bleh. I'm not sure about the sound turning off when it hibernates but I'll see when it happens.
The typing isn't as weird today so hopefully the windows 7 optional update for the touchpad did the trick.

It might be the whole touching the touchpad but I'm not sure. I mean back then it never happened maybe because I've become so fat these days. My hands might have become twice the size.
