HPGL Driver for plotter

I need an HPGL Driver for a plotter, but please note this is HPGL not HPGL/2, seems the later format is compressed where as mine is a ascii variant, commands like PU; for pen up etc.

That seems to be the only thing win7 cant do, is drive my old hp7475a.....

$199.00 ............. how much is windows 7 ?

hell uits a driver lol who are they kidding.


mind you i can understand that some big corporations wont mind $199 if it keeps 5 $1000 machines working,but i just have one little old clunky machine that cost $10 at a yard sale.

the long path of building a cnc plotter is looking like the only viable option

Not a driver but look for KE5FX, who has an HP7475a plotter emulator. This captures GPIB plots from an instrument to an HPGL file which you can view, print and even get into Word via a filter. I use a USB GPIB controller from Prologix which is excellent and low cost, but it also works with NI and HP cards if you already have them.
