I have done a clean install of Windows 7 using Dell re-installation disk (Dell sent me one). I also use Free Macrium reflect backup and restore.
It doesn't seem like a good business strategy to me (certainly not for the consumer).
I use laser printing when possible (cheap & high quality). Inkjet for color but cartridges are expensive.
