You are not supposed to go into temp folder. Instead go into Task Scheduler (Start Menu - search - write "task" and it will show)

Hi, you probably ran Ccleaner or similar and deleted this log file from your temporary folder, that is in use by a scheduled task. Open Task scheduler and expand the" task scheduler library". Open Asus and select the " i-setup" task , delete it, and you are done.

I have 2 of the i-setup" task do I delete them both ? can you explain what happens when I delete the file or files in my case that I have 2. I realize that I am deleting the file(s) by deleting the file(s) is a new one created, if so when?

when I opened the task scheduler I get this error message.0024.jpg

Eaglepi, you have so much problems with your PC? Monitors, this issue, the group policy errors. Consider a clean install as described in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html?

Anyway, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2305420 to fix this error.

yes I was thinking the same thing and I was getting all my data together to make sure I save everything. I was looking at the ways to download win 7 but that got kind of confusing. So just one more question and the next time I come here will be to tell you all that I got a fresh Win& installed.

The only advantage of downloading a ISO or just using mt DVD that came from Microsoft is the downloaded one will have SP1 and if I use my DVD I will have to download all the updates.

If the only major difference of the clean install is my copy on win7 won't have the SP! I'll have to download that from updates, Right?? You are right I should bite the bullet and do a fresh install. Thanks for the advice, I was starting to think I should do that myself but I know how much stuff I will have to install once the clean install is over.

I hear you for sure. Is your copy retail? You can download Win7 Ultimate SP1 Installation ISO from Microsoft Software Recovery with your product key. You can then burn to DVD or make bootable USB http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2432-usb-windows-7-installation-key-drive-create.html.

You will still have to download all the 200+ updates that came after SP1.

And if you follow Brink's tutorial, you will be golden. Let us know how it goes.

If the only difference is if I download the ISO It comes with SP1 I will still have to download the SP1 and then the updates needed to be installed again.

I think I will just use my Disc that I bought direct from Microsoft and not have to worry about doing something wrong with the downloaded Win 7 most current version.

If I am not understanding the difference between the downloadable or use my disc from Microsoft and if the only difference is I will have to download SP1 I'd rather (and feel safer using my Disc )

Your worry is baseless I believe. Having the SP1 installation should be better. Still, I will ask Greg to comment as he has much more experience in this regard.

It's always easiest and sometimes necessary to install using Win7 with SP1. It discusses how to find safe reinstall media in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7 which also compiles everything that's worked best in tens of thousands of installs we've directly helped with here. You'll get and keep a perfect install if you stick with those steps.

For your retail disk be sure to use Internet Explorer as the Microsoft Software Recovery is reported only to work with it (if at all).

If you use pre-SP1 disk then be patient installing Windows Updates, watch for them getting backed up on Start menu Shutdown button as signified by a ! mark on the button, to clear them before trying to install more. It may take several days for them all to download since most of SP1 will come in the Updates and then finally a small SP1 download that is more of a wrapper.

Let us know how it goes.

gregrocker and GokAy I have been asking questions and you two have been answering my questions I was just missing the answers right in front of my face. I don't want you to think I was ignoring the help you were trying to give me. I know how frustrating it can be when someone is trying to help and the person getting the help ignores it. Trust me I was not ignoring your help I was just missing it.

Accept my apology

Ron

Part of the problem might be too many threads, Ron.

I understand that is the best way now for everyone. My questions will remain on the one most current thread.

Hope I have not caused any confusion

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1649-clean-install-windows-7-a.html Shows the actual physical steps for the install itself.

In addition read over http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164 Which Includes everything that needs robe be remembered for backup, install tips, tools and methods which works best to get and keep a perfect install.

I read somewhere on this forum in the tutorials that after Win 7 is installed run Malwarebytes and another spyware program to make sure I have no infections.

Are they suggesting to use them since they are free or should I use them and once no infectins are found I can install my Purchased antivirus, I just paid for 3 years 3 computers of Bitdenfender Internet Security 2015 and Plan to use that after win 7 is installed.
