I am having trouble accessing a partition on an external drive.

I am having a similar problem where a partition is not accessible and when I click on properties I get a message that recycle bin is corrupted. I have a win7 OEM Home edition and one feature that I do not see is the security tab in Properties that many of you have mentioned as a means to resolve this issue.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

This did not work

I am having trouble accessing a partition on an external drive. Other partitions on that drive are accessible. When I click on properties for that partition, I get an message saying that the recycle bin is corrupted, do i want to empty it? I saw elsewhere in forums that others were having similar problem and that this was recommended as a solution. I downloaded the zip file, followed the instructions and when I click on properties for that partition I still do not get the option of taking ownership.

Will try rebooting to see if that helps. Otherwise any and all consideration in this matter is appreciated.

Run a Disk Check on the external partition.

If that fails try Partition Wizard Partition surface test on the drive and Partition Wizard Check File System on the partition.

Let us know what you find.
