I am using W7 Ultimate SP1 on a Asus P53E Notebook and trying to record an annotation on a Screencast video that I am creating. The voice I record is barely audible although I have system volume as well as the Windows Media Player volume at 100%.
If I go to Skype and test the audio it is loud enough that I have to turn the system volume down.
I know very little about audio as I don't play music at all, although, if I watch a U-Tube video or movie I can hear very well.
Anybody want to offer a suggestion?

Bill

What's the program you're using to create that screen cast video? Maybe the problem's with the program you're using. You could mix up the audio by recording the audio in built in reccorder for Win 7.

Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Sound
Click the Recording tab, then the Microphone image, then the Properties button, then the Levels tab.
<whew>
You should see a slider for recording level as well as a percentage. If it's low, move the slider to the right and try your recording again.
If it's already at 100%, then I'm out of ideas.

I had a similar problem and changed the settings to that (see pic). Also look at enhancements.
