Hello, I am having a problem connecting to a wifi network which I have been using from the past. by the way, this is a wifi in a hotel my friends are living in and we all use here a signal enhancer called ALFA NETWORK adapter. I've been using this adapter from the past times that I came here and played online games with them but there was no problem with the connection. I thought it just conflicted with the setting of the IPV4 that I configured for my net connection using a cable at work, so I restored my laptop to the INITIAL setting of my system and reinstalled the driver for the ALFA adapter but sadly the same thing happened. ALFA can detect the existing network in the hotel but It just can't connect. Please help out.

dude, I already know how to do that connect to wireless video coz as I said I was using this wifi network before. the problem is the remove old wifi network from the manage wifi network list. The two wifi list that I had before are gone, maybe this is due to the fact that I restore my system from the initial setting.

Dude, I already know that video about connecting to wifi networks coz as I said from my first post that I've bee using this wifi network before to play online games with my friends here. About the removing old wifi network from the manage wifi list, it is clean now coz as I mentioned earlier also that I restored my system to its initial setting coz I was thinking that there may have been a conflict with the IPV4 configuration that I made. I really thought that restoring my system from a fresh state would do the trick coz it would remove all the latest configuration

List and Name all Anti-Virus, Security or Firewall Software installed from your computer. It might be intervening.

Post an ipconfig /all of the computer in question for review.
Click on the Start Menu search box area type cmd, right click on cmd see at the top, and click on Run as Administrator. From the command prompt (black screen), Copy and Paste these ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt . Please attach the .txt file to be found in your Local Disk 'C' on your next post.

Thanks a lot for the help man... I just removed the trial anti virus McAfee (which was pre installed when I bought this laptop) and also removed that USB broadband driver that I installed for a local mobile network here and then it worked after I rebooted. Maybe it was the antivirus blocking the connection. before restoring my system I was using KASPERSKY AV 2011. But I am just wondering, I dont think KASPERSKY AV 2011 have any firewall, i think it's the INTERNET SECURITY version that has it. Right now I just finished installing and updating this trial version of KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY 2012 and the connection is working just fine.

I attached the ipconfig.txt with this post but this is only after the connection worked.

Looks like you're back in business. AV can also cause internet connectivity issue but usually Security Software :D
