I cannot pin any program now to taskbar

My problem is that somehow Win 7 unpinned Windows Explorer from the taskbar and will not allow it to be re-pinned. In addition I cannot pin any program now to the taskbar

Welcome to our forum croyd.
Give this a try.

Right tick on the Start Orb and select Properties.
In the window that pops up select Taskbar.
Make sure (Lock Taskbar) is not checked.

If Layback Bear's suggestion doesn't offer relief, try:

• http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/214711-taskbar-pinned-items-reset-clear-windows-7-a.html This option will involve a bit more effort in replacing what you had on the taskbar depending on how many Folders, Files, and Programs you had pinned to it, but you will start clean with no corruption of the taskbar. If you see no change try restarting your machine.
