Dell has not listed the 1521 on its Windows 7 compatibility chart. They also have not released any Windows 7 drivers. Whatever drivers Windows automatically installed are not 100% compatible and are, in my humble opinion, the reason for your problems. The only thing I suggest is installing all of the available Vista drivers listed on the Dell website for your laptop; use compatibility mode if things don't want to install.

Very possible. I hadn't realized the OP didn't give this a shot yet.

Yanks, you have plenty of suggestions in the thread to go on. Try them.

Why would he??? First you tell him he's got "dildo" files then you tell him they are viruses.

I disabled the services that you stated, and when I opened a CMD prompt and pasted those lines, nothing happened, it was not recognized. So, all in all, still have a slow computer.

Maybe because they're good suggestions regardless if they fix his issues or not? I did say "rest", meaning "remaining", excluding those two services.

Something isn't cleaning up the resources properly. =( It sounds as similar to the problems you would see when using Java applications, but that shouldn't be the case. Under a clean install and just installing FF with video drivers does it do this? Also, x32 or x64? I don't know if you stated, I just skimmed through the pages.

What do you recommend?

You can't keep track of things in this thread - imagine if you maintained two separate threads for the same thing!

Okay, no offense dude, but I know how to follow instructions. I already had the latest drivers installed. So, there is probably no conflicts with the drivers that are installed. There is something deeply wrong, and I can't find it.

It's x32. I installed W7 fresh and it ran good. I am not sure what I installed to start this sluggish reaction. I may just reinstall it tomorrow to see if it speeds up.

But what he's saying is that these drivers may not be 100% reliable and you should get the Vista drivers off the Dell website
