I can't turn on laptop! Power button problem

Sorry for reposting thread. I hope this doesn't ruin my reputation as a person. My other thread was named incorrectly, therefore not getting as much notice. Sorry about that. :huh:
Anways....
Okay, this is I did something really dumb. Yesterday I was changing the thermal paste in my laptop for the cpu and when I was taking out the palm rest, I forgot to open the flabs to release the ribbons and I stripped the ribbons badly and also the part where the ribbons plug in on the motherboard. The little tiny metal pieces on the place where the power ribbon plugs in are all bent. I can't turn on my laptop on and I really want to be gaming right now lol Is there anyway I can fix this? Please anybody, please help me. If you guys need me to attach pictures to this post I will. Thanks! Right now I'm on my other computer Btw.

without clear pictures I cant see to assess the damage. im assuming your using a phone. try turning on the macro setting.

A better image is needed to understand what's been done. Get access to a digital camera and set it for close up and low resolution so it loads easier and re-post pictures.

I'm sorry but I think you're hosed on this one. Unless you're skilled in de-soldering and re-soldering after finding this part.....short of that then it's a new mobo time!

You may very carefully look at the other connector behind the damaged one and see if this connector has two parts that slide or attach making this fitting if so then you'll be on a quest to find that but to my eye it's one part that's not meant to come apart.

Well I'm not saying that, you may be able to rig the thing up somehow but it will for sure be a Macgyver duct tape and bailing wire thing. You could try and should try maybe with a friend to help apply pressure on the flat cable and it that still works then maybe a super glue with weights to hold while dry solution could work but I'm not suggesting it will last long term?

Put pressure on the flat cable? What do you mean by that? The ribbon?

Yes the ribbon cable needs to line up in the fastener which has no top now, so lay it down and have a friend try to start it up with you holding the ribbon cable down. If that works then maybe there's a way, I'm good at this kind of stuff.....mother of invention stuff but zero chance without seeing and touching to know what I'm up against.

Wow! That's like saying I accidently threw a hammer at the TV set. Glue is not going to make a connection. Each wire will need to be stripped and soldered to pins. If it's valuable to you, take it to a service center and have them fix it. Otherwise, you need a new motherboard.

Not glue on the pin connections.......of course that's not the answer but if the ribbon still can make contact with force being held down then there could still be a way? Really the best answer is new mobo or find this connector and replace it. Ones a lot of money the other work and skill.
