I Cant Use Native Resolution on my pc/monitor

I bought 1 Samsung LCD TV 37" and i use it as a pc monitor, when i go in "change resolution" have this: 1920x1080 (recomended), but when i select this resolution appear this in TV: "Function not available. This resolution isnt supported on this TV, change the resolution" but i look in manual and the TV resolution is 1920x1080...
i put this resolution 1680x1050 and it worked fine last day, but today the TV screen is appearing and disappearing, but when i put 1440x900 this work fine again!!!!!
i use HDMI cable to connect my PC~TV
plz help me!!! i want to put my TV/monitor 1920x1080 cause is better

try a DVI cable .. I've seen similar probs with computers & HDTVs where HDMI is buggery, and a DVI cable works best.

ho into the nvidia control panel and go to "adjust resolution" then somewhere it will have a box that says "show resolutions not available to me" and then go to 1920x1080

how i said... it show resolution 1920x1080 whitout hav to go to "show resolutions not available to me", but when i put the TV dont support '-'

Is there a specific driver that comes with your tv?

You need to load the 'digital' driver NOT the 'analogue' one to use with HDMI/DVI

Is your HDMI lead certified 1.3(b/c) compatable?

When maker/manufacturer makes HDMI lead they have to have it tested so that it passes certain tests.
This is then written on the packaging when you buy the lead.

If it's not "Certified" your lead might not support the resolution you want eg 1080p!
Examples
HDMI 1.3 a/b/c

HDMI 1.4 is the newest specification for 7.1 online/wireless bluray units.

LOL - did you find out if your Hdmi lead can run @ 1080p resolution?

Try it with a friends HD1080p setup or go back to your tv shop and ask them to test the hdmi lead - like I told you before, Hdmi leads are NOT all the same specification!!

Take your pc and lead around to a friend and plug it in to their HD tv. if it works you haven't set up your tv correctly or it is faulty.

Which exact model Samsung 37" TV do you have - I found about 4 different ones!

Some run @ 100hz, some @ 60hz!

Even more important to have correct HDMI 1.3c/1.4 lead (@ 100hz!)

go buy a DVI cable, or borrow one from a friend...try it on the HDTV.

i try the suggestion to buy another HDMI cable with specification 1.3c.... its fine now!! i can use my computer in 1080p '-'
