Hello Dewey, and welcome to Sevenforums.

Disconnect your computer from the internet. I would use another computer to download this to a thumb drive: Microsoft Safety Scanner - Antivirus | Remove Spyware, Malware, Viruses Free
let it scan. :warn: Warning! The thumb drive can become infected after this. Consider using one of these as suggested by Corrine: http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/211161-virus-offline-computer.html#post1769058

Also, I asked a similar question here, you may like some of the answers: http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/211161-virus-offline-computer.html

:note: You do not have to keep your computer disconnected from the internet

Dear Dewey,
A warm welcome to SevenForums! After running the MS cleaner @DustSailor suggested and since you have not mentioned the "specific" BUG, you may also consider running SuperAntiSpyware Scanner from: SUPERAntiSpyware.com - SUPERAntiSpyware Portable Scanner

Please don't get mislead by the word"SuperAntiSpyware"! This tool is very efficient at detecting Trojans and like.

You may also consider running an Anti-Rootkit after downloading onto a thumb drive. Download site :Trend Micro RootkitBuster - Trend Micro USA

regards and best wishes,
sreedhav
