Hello guys!

So some days ago I bought an AVerMedia Game Recorder HD from a private guy on finn.no (something like ebay, but in Norway)
My problem is that when I plug the USB in my USB 2.0 and 3.0 I get this message: USB device not recognized.
I have downloaded all the newest drivers and firmwares from their website: AVerMedia.com, but It still wont work.
I know I have alle the components correctly entered because I have watched their tutorial and I actually read thru their user guide.
If anyone knows how to fix this I would be super happy!

Sorry for bad english.

In most cases you have to first install the device drivers and only then connect the device to the PC. If you connect it first and there are no drivers it can be "not recognized".

If you have a System Restore point that is before you first attempted to install it, roll back with that System Restore and that will give you a clean start. Then first install the drivers.

System Restore will not delete any user data or e-mails. But any programs or updates that were installed after the restore date will have to be installed again (or anything uninstalled will have to be uninstalled again).

Hi @skeptisk

USB devices are detected and recognized at the USB Plug and Play bus level. If it were a game driver issue you'd be getting a "driver not found" or other driver error message.

That means your problem is somewhere between the game device firmware/hardware and the USB controllers.

If a laptop, make sure it's plugged in. like wise, the game should have power. Try turning on the game BEFORE connecting to USB. Make sure the latest chipset / USB controller drivers installed. Try connecting the game to a different computer USB. The game driver doesn't need to be installed. Just see if you can get to a "driver not found" error - would mean other computer can recognize the device.
