Solved I lost the use of Adobe Flash

I was doing a little tinkering and testing and I lost the use of Flash both on I.E. 11 and Firefox 40.0.3. When trying to watch Hulu which requires Flash I get a code 3323. I'm unable to get Flash to work on any site.

I have done a lot of checking, I will list some.

1. Check to make sure Flash was up to date.
2. Remove Flash and re-installed.
3. Checked to make sure MSE and Malwarebytes are set as they should be.
4. Did a bunch of security scans.
5. I have did all the things recommended by Hulu for code 3323. Rebooting modem and computer bunches of times.
6. Checked restore points and found nothing to indicated that Flash would be a program that would be affected. I haven't done a Restore as of yet. I just got some new drivers and I don't want to mess with them if I don't have to.
7. I have check the setting of Flash with my other computer and they are the same. I can watch movies on YouTube.

I guess that is the price of tinkering.

You broke your own advice sir = if it's not broke don't fixit

Which drivers did you update ?

I would say ouch effecting both browsers because flash is different in each browser isn't it ?
Meaning you have to add it to Firefox separately than the flash from ie11

Either way see if turning off hardware acceleration in Firefox and use software rendering in ie11 internet options/ advanced :/

Yep I goofed up.
But I have good news.
While try to figure out things a pop up while on Firefox and Hulu I got a pop up to Refresh Flash.
I though what the Hell I will give it a try. Then I got a little window asking to allow Flash to store thing on my computer. I give the okay and now I can watch Hulu on Firefox and I.E. 11.

I now have a folder on my Desktop (Old Foxfire Data) which I won't open because at the time I don't want to mess with things. IIABDFWI.

I'm going to shut down and will be back in a little while.

For FF,
Flash is automatically dissabled, for a refreshed or new install, but not if you use the new version pop-up of FF is available.

Thrashzone is correct, there are currently 3 available options for flash, see screenshot.

You can go ahead and delete the Firefox.Old, it won't affect anything certainly not your refreshed version.

Re IE,
not sure if a recent WU changed any defauts for Flash.

Screenshot 2 shows the settings
If you go behind it you can allow/stop or restrict how sites can store info on your comp.

I did noticed one thing, after the Refresh Yahoo was set as my search engine. I changed it back to Google.

Yahoo replaced Google as the Search Engine default in FF a few months ago.

Did you try manual downloading of flash players from here? This is a link to the web page not a direct download see under Still having problems for the direct links.

Install all three of them. Now reboot if asked. Install all 3 then reboot.


If that doesn't work for firefox and if you have google chrome or chromium installed, remove it and reinstall it. Then reboot. Also, to me hulu seems to run better in google chrome. Sometime reinstalling google chrome will fix other issues-my experience.

I haven't use Chrome in many years.

Roy, are you having problems updating the flash plug-in for IE? It should match the version you have for Firefox.
