Solved I Need Help Removing A Virus

When i try to select "remove all unhealed" in AVG it says that removing the virus can cause instability or a system crash. How can i get rid of it safely?

It is safe to remove that file, if AVG for any reason wont remove it, download malwarebytes and use that instead.

Ok thanks, i removed it with AVG. It also found an information thing during the scan for
"Object name";"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\resident evil 5\redist\gfwlivesetup.exe"

And the problem is
"Detection name";"The file is signed with a broken digital signature, issued by: Microsoft Corporation."

Any idea what that means?

Well it can mean many things, most likely the digital signature is out of date which causes AVG to claim it is broken. AVG in my experience tends to display a lot of false positives. Make sure you got the software from the legitimate vendor in any case.

Try giving it a scan with Norton Power Eraser & see what it has to say:

Because Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect threats, there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should use this tool very carefully.

Or try running MS Safety Scanner and see what results it comes up with:

If they detect nothing wrong, then it's probably a false positive. If they find something wrong with the file though, you'll probably want to do some investigating.

Try using Malwarebytes (Malwarebytes) or Hitman Pro (it is a trial version BUT, the scans are fast and VERY accurate) I also recommend you download Spybot Search & Destroy or SUPERAntiSpyware.

i think he means its not showing up. not sure

but it would make sense why its not showing anything up as its been deleted.

If Malwarebytes is not detecting anything, then I think its ok BUT I'd like you to try SUPERAntiSpyware which is another good program. Download the free version or just the portable (so you don't have to install.)

Ok i ran the scan and it picked up 21 tracking cookies

Then, I am pretty sure you have deleted the virus successfully (which is why AVG won't find it anymore; because it was previously deleted it)

BUT, if you're still unsure...you can try my personal favourite anti-malware software....Hitman Pro 3.5.8...You can use its full capabilities for 30 days, it is a trial but it will delete anything as if it were the full version. Download the one pertinent to you (32bit or 64bit)

yes many times AVG don't remove many type of viruses but yes malware bytes can remove that and yes it is safe to remove that kind of viruses.
