That shouldn't stop you from upgrading your card. Just disable Aero and other visual effects such as transparency, do not make a slideshow that changes pictures every 15 seconds and you should be all right for now.

I didn't read very carefully everything, but even if you are able to enable Aero with this card, it will probably slow down your PC and make everything frustrating and annoying -- which is not the benefit from Aero.

I'd even suggest to get a new motherboard with an integrated graphics processor, if your CPU is compatible with newer motherboards. What are your specs? Not every PC can run Windows 7 smoothly and without problems. You should read more before installing new OS.

I understand some people are only trying to help here... BUT, telling someone there card is ancient and to upgrade is no help whatsoever...... I came here looking for possible solutions to problems with this card and windows 7 and found nothing useful at all.... first of all, to the person who said this card cannot do aero....this card is plenty capable of running aero..... mine does no problem..... I just have issues in games.....not all of us have money to go upgrade to a new card so our kids can play games......let me figure out which driver I used that worked for me and I will post it for the people looking for serious help instead of telling you to go fork out another $100 for a new card.....like I said, the driver I used works fine for 7 and running aero, I just run into all kinds of graphical glitches in games.....

use the version 96 driver for windows vista 32x
