I am a resident of an assisted living facility. I have some computer knowledge and was asked by the director if I would take care of their new computer.
The first thing I did was create an admin account for myself and password protect it. I didn't have time to setup all of the rules to prevent any resident from getting into areas they know nothing about.
This morning I went to work on the computer and even before i got there I was stopped by two people asking me for the PW to use IE. I went in and found that a PW was required to open IE. It was OK two days ago. Then I tried to open my admin account and my password would not work. I have been using it for a week now so I know what it is.
Is there any way for me to change the admin account password or/and remove the IE PW?

Never heard of needing a password for internet explorer. It sounds like you can get into the machine OK, if that`s the case, then just create another admin account.

You should be able to change the password on your old account using the new account.

If the old password still doesn`t work, then just delete the old account.

I think the problem was being on the "guest" network account instae of the "main: account.
Whwn I changed it back several of the programs that required a password worked OK. I'll check the rest out tomorrow Don't know why it was on the "guest" account.

I would also do some security scans to see if anything got installed that could cause the accounts to change.
