Those drivers in Recovery are outdated by now and will be replaced by newer ones delivered by Optional Windows Update after reinstall. Did you follow the method to enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) and then run all Important and Optional Windows Updates (except Bingware) until there are no more? There will be several reboots requested after which you should go back to Check for Updates until there are no more.

Again if you have not followed the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 yet then you've not even attempted to Clean Reinstall Win7 correctly. Why are you so stubbornly wanting to run inferior Recovery without making a real attempt? If tens of thousands of other users have done these reinstalls with our help without a single complaint, do you really think you'd be the only one in five years who failed? At least give it a shot.

I apprecite that and no I won't fail I have read the steps and they are precisely explained and change my vision of a clean install, I thought a clean install was boot from cd format c:) then install
Anout driver update, it's very interesting but I am somehow, want to factory reset using oem very badly, just go with me this time, I am not pushing or anything and not ordering you at all.
Thank you for your effort and others and I hope together would solve this and then I meight try to use your method and if it doesn't give me what I want, I will get back to factory reset by oem
So are you in?

Ripshock, Greg is one of the most experienced user in this forum. You should follow what he is advising.

You shouldn't have created two topics to discuss the same issue - http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/334575-swm-files-asus-k55a.html

The questions you asked there is already answered. Converting a GPT disk to MBR will destroy all data. There are commercial partitioning tools which can do non destructive conversion but most definitely Windows won't boot after that.

Why would you again insult those trying to help you? Are you one of the most ungrateful people we've seen here in the past five years?

I would apologize to Anshad who is one of the few here who has the skills to help you relink your Recovery partition which is an operation above the abilities of many of the top experts in the world. I've also seen SIW2 in the thread several times who for some reason hasn't helped you. Could it be your attitude?

Ok, I am sorry, I am just gonna go with you as smooth as I can be, no complaints, nothing, but one tiny thing that we resolve this terrible, also, I havn't been like this with anyone but you just kept telling me about your method and I have already said I don't want, please don't get me wrong, I am so generous and nice with people but I also have limits, I am a human being, so if I really did anything wrong, i am sorry again and I mean it and I will try to be as mature as I can beso are we cool?
Thank you

In Post 43 you clearly said you were ready to do the Clean Reinstall, so the reply "Here we go again" was unexpected a few posts later.

No problem. Carry on.

How the SWM files eneded up in "Recycle Bin" ?. Is it already there when you explored the partition first time ?. Is there any other WIM/SWM file which is bigger than 1 GB ?.

Please try the below steps.

1. Download and install "Partition Guru" from http://www.eassos.com/partitionguru.php

2. Install the tool and open it. Unlike "Partition Wizard", "PartitionGuru" will let us copy files from hidden partitions. Now create a folder in one of the empty data partition - preferable named "Recovery". Then copy asus.swm, asus2.swm,asus3.swm and asus4.swm to the "Recovery" folder.

http://www.partitionguru.com/manual/CopyFilesFromPartition.php

3. Open an elevated "Command Prompt" and type the below command exactly.

dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:e:\Recovery\asus.swm

(assuming the SWM files are stored inside "E:\Recovery" folder ).

Let us know the result with next reply.

Hi

Usually the recovery image will contain the necessary drivers required for the system. However it won't hurt to copy that wim file too.

On a later thought, please execute the below command after the first one.

dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:e:\Recovery\asus.swm >e:\wiminfo.txt

This will create a file named "wiminfo.txt" in E drive. Please attach that file along with the screenshot.
