iBall CompBook Excelance - unable to load Windows 7

Hello All,

Im based out of India, and today i have this machine which has pre-installed version of W10 X86.
It is a home edition.
However, i tried to install W7 X64 on this machine, but could not as it has 32gb eMMC, which is a GPT.

I created a USB fr GPT. Setup started and then after a while it failed.
So, is there any way to install W7 on this PC?

As I understand it, you have a 32 GB solid state drive, and it is the only hard drive in this machine.

32 GB is not very much space. I don't know if you can successfully install Windows 7 64-bit on this machine unless you get a bigger hard drive. Can you open the machine without damaging it? If so, you might be able to install a bigger internal drive. But be careful, because you might damage your machine by doing this.

You could try to make Windows 7 smaller, so that it will fit on the drive. The idea is that you will plug in an external drive, install Windows 7 to that drive, shrink it down as small as possible, then push that install to your internal drive (if it will fit). Here's how you can do this:
1. Connect two external drives - one should be at least 100 GB, and the other should be at least 32 GB (the size of your internal drive). You can use either hard drives or flash drives.
2. Install Macrium Reflect Free (or some other backup software) on the big drive.
3. Create a Macrium rescue disk, using the other external drive as the rescue disk. (You need to do this step before putting anything else on this drive, because doing this step erases the drive.)
4. Do an image backup of your current internal hard drive. Back it up to the smaller external drive.
5. Set the machine to recognize the bigger external drive as the Windows drive.
6. Install Windows 7 on that drive.
7. Log into Windows and uninstall everything that you possibly can (i.e. the junk which comes with Windows -- trial versions of software, etc.).
8. When you have made Windows 7 as small as you can possibly make it, go into File Explorer, and see how much room it is taking on the drive. It needs to be 28 GB or less, because you have to have at least a little bit of free space in order for Windows to be able to operate.
9. Restore the image of the Windows 7 install that you created - restore it to the internal drive.

Another option: Install 32-bit Windows 7 rather than 64-bit Windows 7. The machine comes with Windows 10 32-bit pre-installed. This suggests that the machine is 32-bit, not 64-bit. I suggest you try installing Windows 7 32-bit rather than 64-bit.

Your iBall CompBook Excelance has a Atom CPU that is the top bottom of Intel CPU and you want to install Win 7 x64 on a 32G eMMC?
Don't waste your time. Use it as it came from factory (win 10 x32).

i managed to install W7 upto an extent where machine reboots to finish installation.
but then setup fails.
i did this using by converting my usb drive to gpt.
but no luck after that. bootloader is crashed.
another thing is that the processor supports x64 as well. from what i heard from various friends of mine is that, these machines wont be able to boot W7 on them.
next, hard drive, i mean storage is a SMD ic. Its from Kingston. So, no possibility of altering storage space.
Anyway, i created W10 media disc using windows media. installed, got bootloader up. later wifi SD Card sound not working.

Had spent too much of time on this so, i sent the machine to service.
its back with all drivers installed and its W10 X86, sigh!
understood that this is it.

This model, Intel Atom Processor Z3735F (2M Cache, up to 1.83 GHz) Product Specifications,
ATOM z3735f supports x64.
Im sure youre aware of difference betwn x86 and x64, so i tried this.

ATOM z3735f supports x64. But it will run better on a 32 bits than on a 64 bits OS.
Install a 64 bits OS only if you have more than 4G memory.
