there a 4 windows 7 machines with the same program (act by sage).
2 64bit and 2 32bit.
the program displays fine on 3 of the four but on the fourth(32 bit) the icons are missing. (its like a little handshake).
now i have searched through all the files on another machine which is displaying properly for this icon but it doesnt seem to be in any folder, i also did a search for .jpg, .ico, .gif.

the wierd thing is when you go into uninstall in the control panel the icon is there where it should be. it just doesnt show anywhere elese (even in the origional .exe file).

Any ideas how to get it back?

P.S. Please note that this is act by sage. NOT act add-on for outlook. Thanks

Some programs contain their icons within the .exe. Create a shortcut to the .exe by sending to desktop from a file manager. Use this shorcut to replace the missing ones.

Hi
Have a look at this post, it might be just what you are looking for. X

Thank you very much, this was spot on. i spent too many hours trying to fix this.

Any ideas what causes it ?

BTW although you say the machines have Win 7 your profile shows XP!

Yes thats because i was useing a xp machine when i signed up().
My main work machine is a xp machine anyway. its my personal laptop i have windows 7 on. Thanks.

No idea I'm afraid other than it appears to be a cache problem. I suppose you could spend hours trying to figure it out but usually unless you can replicate the problem it is almost impossible (for me anyway) to come to a conclusion. They are funny old things Computers. (a bit like me, I think):)
