Something has changed on my pc in the last few days and I have no idea what happened.

I have folders set up on the desktop

for example, i have a folder called MS Office

Within the folder are 4 icons for the programs (word, Excel, Powerpoint and Diagnostics)

The icons use to display as medium size - not there are appearing as details.

This has happened to every folder on the desktop. I can change them back to medium size icons, but they do not stay.

How do i fix this issue?

You could try resetting Explorer Folder View to default.
Then set it manually to what you want and see if it "sticks."

Edit: Note that the .reg file just deletes the "bags" Explorer uses to remember the settings. As the settings are set and changes the "bags" are reloaded. So it is not some vital Registry thing that can't be erased.

Edit2: Actually in this case it is not a .reg file but a .bat that uses registry editing commands via the command line. But it does delete the bags of folder view settings.
