ide and sata

i have m2n asus board,nforce chipset ,430....,i assume this is ok,from device manager,no yellow marks,but al drivers are dated in 2006 for disk drives,and i would like to have updated driver for my sata disk wd6400aaks .....or leave it as it is....could i gain speed if update storage controllers,from nvidia,not from microsoft,i want all to be as best possible..os is windows 7 .no support from asus and my motherboard M2N chipset drivers for win 7..advise please!

Device drivers should only be updated if the current versions are buggy, leave it as it is unless you are having issues

No you won't gain anything, speed is dependent on your hardware
