Solved IDE to SATA for DVD Drive

I have 2 dvd drives (IDE) from a dead computer.
I would like to be able to use them in my current computer (SATA)

I keep trying to find an adapter that plugs in to the dvd drive and allows it to plug in to the Molex power adapter.

This page explains it but gives no link to find it.

Honestly, you can get a really good SATA DVD Drive for about $15-20....I'd just go that route.

But I agree with kbrady. Why spend 12 bucks on an adapter when you can get a new drive for 18?

I tried this adapter approach a while back when I built a new PC, which did NOT have any IDE ports, and thought I could reuse the old DVD drives. And, while the adapters did work, from the standpoint of being able to recognize and use the drives, the PC could not boot from any disks in those drives.

Spent the money (a LOT less than I paid for the IDE DVD drives) and bought new SATA drives. Think that they cost less than $20 apiece!
