So i have 2 issues that happened to occured on the same day...at least i think they are coincidental but i mention them in case they are related.

1st issue
2 days ago my daughter shut down my main computer, since then when it is started it will not go online. The wireless network is 'identifying' constantly.

My other wireless devices work fine.

I cannot access Admin/CMD line, ipconfig as it indicates that the app does not exist any longer and/or it is not designed to run on my windows OS.

In fact all attempts to do anything related to networking gives me a message that i need to re-install my OS as changes have been made recently.

I have done a restore for all restore points i had available as well.

2nd issue
I am getting the msg that i am using a non-genuine windows install when in fact I am....besides annoying if i could get online i cannot update windows nor Windows Essentials i have installed.

I have run Malwarebytes in normal and safe mode - nothing.
i have run Avast Anti virus in both - nothing.

Please help!

I really do not want to re-install.

Much appreciate any help!

What else can i tell you?!

Mike :)

Without the ipconfig/all read out it's a guessing game but it sounds like the Op system was somehow corrupted. If you can't even pull up a command prompt there are bigger problems then just getting online.

A system image really comes in handy for times like these, system restore never works right for me either. Using Windows file recovery to create a system image works well for this.

Sorry, I CAN access CMD line, but ipconfig gives an error box ipconfig.exe - bad image then it goes on to list the location of the .dll and that it is not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the prog again using the orig. installl media or sontact my system support or sw vendor for support.

I wanted to add that even my web browser 'Google Chrome' tells me that the sw is missing or corrupt and to re-install....so whatever i have wrong with the system it is disabiling all web related apps or utilities.

Is there something else i should be running such as Highjackthis or another?

Thanks.

Mike
