IE 10 install failure - Error code 9C57

Sorry it took me so long!

Hi johnss001,

Just to confirm, did you run my batch file as an administrator? The zip file is empty and I'm not sure whether this means there is no patch logs or not.

Tom

There IS a caveat, though - MS is currently investigating problems with these two update, so do NOT attempt to force the install of either, as they will almost certainly fail (in an unpredictable manner!)

Tend to agree I have downloaded it both ways now as the update route was not working for whatever reason.
This only because I have had to reinstall IE9 because my employer - yep government department hasn't updated their system yet which also has to have Java - scary huh?

There are a number of errors in the logs - almost all to do with either networking or storage problems.
I would try updating the Intel Chipset drivers, and your RealTek network drivers.

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194

(you want the iata_enu.exe download)

The Realtek card you appear to have is RTL8167 - for which there appear to be no official drivers available.
It's reported that the RTL8168 drivers work - see here... Realtek

Noel... latest attached, I think. I didn't do anything to create the logs so I am assuming that it is automatically configured to log in the background and this should be a new file right?

Sorry about the lack of response, it seems to have dropped off my radar.
I'm seeing nothing new in there - but it's probably all out of date now anyhow.
are other updates installing OK??
