I am running Windows 7 64 64bit which I have had for years. Seems here recently, that IE 11 is hanging up more and more often. I have other browsers and they do NOT seem to be hanging up.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I use the Internet Explorer 11.0.200 browser every day to visit numerous web sites, and it works fine with the vast majority of them.

Because main stream support for Windows 7 SP1 ended in January 2020, some web sites have dropped support for IE11, so those web sites no longer work properly with it.

When I find a web site that doesn't work properly with IE11, I switch to my Mozilla Firefox 79.0 browser.

I'm not sure what you mean by "hanging up".

Internet Explorer is an obsolete browser, no longer in development, and widely disregarded by site developers years ago. If it hangs with only a particular webpage (and not every single location), it could mean an incompatibility problem with that particular site.
On the other hand, frequent crashes on every site may indicate a problem on your computer instead.

Note that even Microsoft itself has officialy discontinued Internet Explorer, and is now advertising Google Chrome as its main browser (under the name of "Edge"). I would strongly recommend that you use any other browser but IE.

Microsoft has continued to update Internet Explorer 11 every "patch Tuesday" since January 2020 when it was version 11.0.170

It's my guess the August 2020 security quality monthly rollup will update it to version 11.0.205

I don't care if IE11 is out of date that is the best browser made because all settings and favorites you can see their location.

I have Firefox as backup browser only which is total crap for settings. The older version used to ask do you want to import IE favorites YES.

You can't find Firefox BOOKMARKS is there a copyright on favorites as you can with IE all versions!!!

The newer ones doesn't, I asked about this on here many times.

Google Chrome is another crap browser all it does is show pictures of links, if I want pictures I look on Google images.

Another crap settings.

My IE.

As said previously "And IE11 is going to be supported in W10 for the foreseeable future."

Correct if M$ make software it should be compatible with any Windows version BILL GATES said that many years ago.

Keithuk:

I just discovered you commented about Internet Explorer 11 in multiple threads.

I have already replied to you in the other thread.
