I have the latest Java installed on WIN 7 IE 11 and a "verify java" test shows all is working fine.

However, when I go to my bank's website to make an e-deposit (which requires java and thus IE11 which is the only current browser that allows Java as a plugin) a security warning opens and prevents Java from opening on that site.

Is this because WIN 7 itself is no longer supported with security updates? Has anyone else run into this problem or tried Java on the WIN 10 installation of IE 11 at a bank site or other secure site that requires Java?

Hi

As w7 and by default IE11 within it, has become legacy = your bank will likely regard it as insecure
ONLY they can confirm this.

BTW, the last official Internet Explorer 11 update has version 11.0.170 that comes with last January 14th, 2020 patch (Kb4534310).
You could try to enable Java on another Browser of your choice. The link is 3 1/2 years old but it should work: Tip: use a secondary browser for Java, Flash and other plugins - gHacks Tech News

Most people don't use JAVA because of security issues...
Just un-install unless you really need it...
