I upgraded my laptop to Windows 7, ever since, I can't use IE 32 bit. 64 bit works fine, but I can't watch videos on You Tube or Facebook because Adobe hasn't got a working version of flash player for 64 bit IE. I've tried running it as administrator, that dosen't work. I've tried firefox and google chrome. It seems that I can't run a 32 bit browser at all. What can I do to get it to work? If there isn't a fix, is there a 64 bit flash player out there I can use?

When you upgraded to Windows 7, did you do an in place upgrade or a clean install?

As for a 64 bit flash player... It's been years in waiting with no signs of it ever coming to light. Maybe one day.

electrotune1200,
No such luck, the reset didn't work.
With the clean install, I'm not sure. I plugged in the disc and ran the setup and the computer took care of it's self with the update. I couldn't answer that question confidently.

When your install was complete, were all your previous programs and files still present?

Or did you have to re-install your software and files?

Do you have an AV that might be blocking your install? Like AVG IMO

Hello,

Being that your having problems with multiple x86 web browsers, I have a feeling this is due to a currupt upgrade.

I am going to suggest that you do a clean install of Windows 7. It will probably end up taking less time than figuring out what is going wrong.

Just remember you will have to save your important data to an external source, like an external HDD or a set of DVD's. You will also have to re-install all of your software as well.

Here's a tutorial to guide you through step by step.

If you have Windows 7 "Upgrade" media, you can follow this guide.

You should also have a look in "Device Manager" and make a note of some of your hardware devices, and fill out some of your specs in your User Control Panel of this website. It's a good idea to have your hardware known just in case you have to install a drver after your re-install.

If you want to hold on a bit, and see what other may suggest I understand. But in the end I promise you it will be well worth it.

1. Go to start
2. In search box, type cmd , right click cmd.exe, and then click "Run as administrator"
3. Then type:

netsh winsock reset

4. Press enter
5. Restart PC

Hopefully that will fix it
