The most likely reason for not being able to add anything to the cart there is the fact that IE 11 is still in a demo form and not ready for all secured sites. Other then that type of limitation at the present moment I haven't run into any other quirks so far despite it also not being my default browser but on now for evaluation and some testing.

Now as far as some results so far compared to IE 8 and 9 having skipped the final version of 10 the multiple browser winodws not seeing IE stall was a good pass. General browsing is smooth as well. A few Pros for the day.

On the Con side ihowever it takes noticably longer to see the home page load then the default browser in use much like it was for 9. That's only seen when opening the first IE window and then for second, 3rd, 4th windows the home page will then load up quickly as it should be doing. Apparently with every fresh startup the first needs to initialize a bit more and once open IE 11 then goes to work.

You might have somewhat of a point there, although I can access my banking institution just fine.

That's said, I've run into a few quirks with some websites that might require me to uninstall it since some of these I rely on for school. Also I notice yesterday that MSN.com was freezing up a little.

I'll see what happens a bit longer, but if more strange issues pop up, I'll have to dump it till it goes final.

I'm getting ready to install Windows 8.1 on my laptop so I'll see what IE11 is doing there... see if I get the same issues.

Being that 11 is fresh off the block and not the finished version some oddities should actually be expected at times just as you would expect to see with any other type of beta this or that. The bugs still need to be worked out by the developers.

Now here's another mind storm in that respect. With the Window embedded form of IE FORGET IT! is the answer to why some are not able to log in to do their banking or bill payments! The feather light Compact Edition or CE 6.0 form of Window 7 can't do much except browse the web!

Likewise with any demo as seen with the previous versions they also tend to have some limitations and are intended for evaluation purposes not your typical everyday activities. I could still say trying to tinker in the Security tab with each zone may see results. Making the change on one or two things could prove to be what is needed if it doesn't have anything to do with the site itself requiring certain active X controls not included in the preview.

That is the most often and easiest thing to forget regarding a beta for any program. Any beta can prove to be buggy as we know too well. Feedback however is too often the item skipped past and the one thing developers need to see since this is reporting back to them from real world situations not just the drawing board.

I think of the main reasons besides MS putting more effort into fixing bugs initially with 7 is the fact that with the interest in 7 more people did offer generally positive feedback with the occasion minor bug annoyance that MS apparently addressed even before SP1 arrived. Likewise submitting any feedback regarding bugs and quirks that come up will help MS see the final version is made in working order.

I tend to have a feeling now after putting 11 through some mills that this will be the best version of IE as far as stability seen in some time. Anyone can easily rule out IE 6 as a nightmare security shot full of holes with IE 7 patching those up. What became frustrating to a degree here as mentioned before was seeing IE 8, 9 stall when multiple browser windows were open.

Even after a fresh install of Win7 went on 8 would tend to stall at times. This lead to selecting another browser to consider as default. So far this will be a plus factor for 11 having been put through that test earlier and passing with flying colors having 7 or 8 windows open and not one glitch. The first time of use however despite daily powerups is the first 11 window of the day will lag getting the home page to appear. But once that is done the page does seem to load right up faster then the previous IE versions.

For example, a while ago (2011?) I discovered something weird about the way Firefox implemented CSS (this wasn't a beta either, it was the actual release version).
A certain style would only work if it was included in the HTML tag, or an external stylesheet.
It would not work if it was included in the head section.

I couldn't report it directly to Mozilla (all bug reports had to be funneled through a Google account).
Since I didn't have such an account, or wish to create one, I didn't report it.

I'm still spewing because I was forced to create a Google account for my TAFE course (a couple of months ago).

Most of my associates hate Google and they refuse to sign up for their "free services".

I have no idea whether it got fixed.
IIRC, it was a simple XHTML exercise (for my TAFE course) involving link colours.
I alerted the lecturer, so there were no problems as far as the course was concerned.

Ironically it worked perfectly in IE (IE8?).

I thought people read/spoke English (the US version) in Virginia.

My original point (post #90) was, if you want feedback you have to make it easy for people to give it.
I used Firefox as an example, because they made it more difficult than necessary to report issues.

Interestingly enough, when I was testing FF alphas they had two buttons that you could use to give feedback (i.e. it was easy to give feedback).

As for IE11, I'm reading this thread to see what people think about it.

I submitted feedback without any iota on my findings so far. When signing up it only takes a minute and you are not required to fill in your life story just the basics not even the town, city, or state you live in.

(gee had to use a different display name to sign up this time since the one I would have used was already in use for some reason. I wonder where? hhmmm... )

Feedback is something any developer will want to hear. At first it seem a bit awkward trying to figure out how to get in on it but it's not. The layouts for each site could be made to show how it easy it is however. In that area every site I've participated always seems to be lacking.

In the feedback options seen you can enter either the positive results or the errors you have an encountered and then select the type of subject for the circumstance such as installation, performance, etc.(required selection). And then in the second text window the question of what is expected is asked where you can fill that in as well. For me I noted besides security being a factor with any new browser the things I expected were reliability and stability placing performance on the back burner since if the browser doesn't work it won't matter how fast it is!

Fixed!

OK, I found an issue. On Microsoft's Dream Spark website, IE11 isn't working properly. While I can log in and pick a product, I can't add them to my shopping cart for download. Clicking the "Add to cart" does nothing.

On my Windows 8 machine with IE10, everything works right and I was able to download the product I wanted.

Anyway this is the only non working issue I've found thus far. Strange this is happening with a MS website though

Had to add site to "Compatibility View"

Tools, click Compatibility View Settings, and add the troublesome website...

Always something right? All it takes is one little thing to trip you up at times! But at least you now know where the hold up was.
